Next gen battery development
Earlier this week, we spent time with the team at the University of Michigan's Battery Lab to learn about the latest in battery cell fabrication and testing. The UM Battery Lab is a campus research core offering academic and industrial users from around the globe the expertise and resources required to prototype, test and analyse batteries and the materials that go into them. The lab’s aim: work with the industrial and academic energy storage community to bring together scientists and engineers, as well as suppliers and manufacturers, to ease a bottleneck in battery development near the US' automotive capital Detroit, Michigan.
Creating a circular economy for EV batteries starts at the design and development stage. Through the UM Battery Lab we get a glimpse of tomorrow's battery technology today, and we can make sure our products and services are ready to close the loop when these new tech advances are a reality.
